Note- the words "Tai Tong" undoubtedly mean Indian opium but

exactly how this differs from that Indian Opium called

"Un Tong" or "round sugar" is not clear,

The word Tung translated "ball" means a "wooden barrel", but in some pepers seized at the same address the same word was used to mean tins containing 5 taels of prepared opium in the account books the word signifies an amount of opium @quivalent to that in a ball of Indian opium, and the price given is high, so that the probability is that it refers to

Indian opium.

Besides the above correspondence e similar style of

correspondence we was found between the Yuk shing Chong and

the Kwong ang firm of Chik Haz Kwong Chow Wan.
